One Handle, Endless Options: CK Mace & Club Loading Variations

Want to get the most out of your CK Maceworks gear? Let’s talk about loading options—because with a little creativity, one handle can unlock a ton of different swing feels, strength challenges, and training results.

Why It Works: The 1-Inch 8 Thread Advantage

Every CK Mace and Club handle is drilled and tapped with a 1-inch, 8 threads-per-inch national coarse thread. That means any 1"-8 bolt—or any compatible attachment—can screw right into the end. That simple design choice opens the door to dozens of loading methods.

Some of our customers have even made their own loading heads… but if you want to see a few fun options, here's a quick tour...

4 Loading Options Featured in the Video (Out of Many)

These are just a few of the ways you can load your CK Mace or Club. The video showcases four setups to give you a feel for how different each one can be—even when used on the same handle:

1. Standard Pin + Iron Plates

Our 6-inch loading pin fits standard 1” iron plates.
Keep it simple and progressive with 2.5s, 5s, or 10s.
Great for dialing in precise weight jumps.

2. XL Pin + Olympic Adapter

Running 10-lb Olympic plates? No problem.
Our XL loading pin (10” long) with a plastic Olympic adapter (Amazon find) gets the job done.
Pro tip: Use quality collars to keep things locked in tight.

3. The Canteen (Fillable Head)

This round head screws directly onto your handle and can be filled with anything heavy.
We’ve used semi-truck wheel bearings, but sand, BBs, or even lead shot are fair game.
Because of its mass distribution, it swings totally differently—more rotation, more challenge.

4. The Ramjet Head (Concrete Cast)

Made by Mike Racole in Michigan, these are custom concrete heads with a 1” bolt embedded.
Each one has a different density and weight.
They’re raw, rugged, and surprisingly smooth to swing.

Why This Matters for Your Training

Even with one mace handle, you can build:

  • Different swing feels (momentum, torque, and control)

  • Progressive overload without buying multiple fixed tools

  • More fun and variation in your training

Swapping heads means you're not just changing the weight—you’re changing the physics of the movement. That forces your grip, shoulders, and timing to adapt every time.

One of the best parts about training with a CK Mace or Club is how versatile it is. And with the right attachments, you’re only limited by your imagination.
